A Love Better Than a Rom-Com: Jake + Sophia’s Engagement Story 🤍✨
Being an engagement photographer has given me so many beautiful moments, but every once in a while, a couple comes along who makes time slow down. Jake and Sophia did exactly that.
From the moment Jake submitted his inquiry, I just knew — this was a couple I wanted to work with. You could feel the love, respect, and deep adoration he has for Sophia through his words alone. And once I read his story, I was all in.
Jake shared
“I truly felt like God brought us together. I never thought I’d find such an amazing, godly woman like Sophia — someone who constantly encourages me, strengthens my faith, and brings me closer to Christ every day. I have no doubt in my heart that we’re meant to have a strong, Christ-centered marriage built on love, faith, and grace.”
And right then, I knew this session was going to be one of my favorites ever.
Jake and Sophia are a Christian couple who knew from the very beginning that what they had was special. Their love isn’t just sweet — it’s intentional, faith-filled, and deeply rooted in God. The kind of love that doesn’t just make you smile, but makes you feel something. Blending families, and the type that feels like a warm hug.
Their story? Better than any rom-com. And trust me — as a self-proclaimed rom-com enthusiast, I don’t say that lightly. Their first date lasted nine hours (yes, NINE). And during their session, Sophia’s tears quickly turned into my tears. The emotion was contagious.
When I finally met Sophia, it all made sense. Their connection, their values, the way they look at each other — it’s rare. It’s real. It’s the kind of love that reminds you why you believe in love stories in the first place.
This session was also deeply personal for me. After walking through a complicated pregnancy of my own and witnessing firsthand the power of prayer, I’ve grown closer to God in ways I never expected. So being able to document a love that is rooted in faith, grace, and beautiful values didn’t feel like work at all — it felt like a gift.
I left this session completely energized. So energized, in fact, that I stayed up editing their gallery until almost 4 a.m. because I just couldn’t stop.
Jake and Sophia reminded me that I’m not just photographing engagements — I’m witnessing miracles, answered prayers, and love stories written by God Himself. And honestly? I’m living the dream.
